Corporate Social Development in 2012

Thai Factory Development Public Company Limited (TFD) and its subsidiaries realize the importance of social responsibility in areas where we do our business as well as in faraway from civilization and deprived areas. We also believe in our ability to do something useful for our communities.

In 2012, we provided education support in a form of scholarships, donations of school materials and lunch to schools in the neighborhoods of our business and to those in faraway from civilization areas. We also made donations to several foundations and provided religious support while encouraging participation by our staff and the related communities in our activities. Our major projects were:

Education activities

- Improving school environment and providing school materials for the Wat Tha Sa-an Buranasin Anusorn School

To prepare our children for the upcoming Asean Economic Community (AEC) in 2015 while emphasizing the importance of education.

In 2012, we provided financial support to the Wat Tha Sa-an Buranasin Anusorn School, which is the school in the same neighborhood of our business. We spent time improving the school’s surroundings and provided school materials to accommodate both students’ needs and those of residents in the community with a goal to enhance Thai student’s competitiveness compare with their counterparts in other Asean countries.

- Providing school materials, sports equipment and lunch to four Udorn Thani Border Patrol Police (BPP) schools

Acknowledging the situation of students in faraway from civilization areas who continue to be deprived of the much-needed teachers, investment and teaching materials, TFD’s working committee on this matter keeps monitoring them to provide the much-needed assistance and support and to share the burden of relevant authorities responsible for the schools.

In 2012, TFD together with a group who calls itself “Compassion for Smile” organized the “Compassion for Smile” project through which we donated school materials, sports equipment and lunch to students in four schools run by the Border Patrol Police (BPP) in Udorn Thani Province between December 8-10, 2012.

TFD, Wishing to provide a better education opportunity to students in faraway from civilization areas, TFD aspires that this should help improving their wellbeing while sending an important message to students that lesser social opportunity does not need to prevent them from accessing education and self-development. On the other hand, there are a lot of people out there who want to give them an opportunity and share what they have so that students could grow up and become a crucial force for the country’s future.

Religious support activities

- Providing religious support and donations for temple renovation

Buddhism not only being the national religion, Buddhism is also something most Thai people turn to in good and bad times. Buddhist temples therefore are important for Thai people in everyday’s life as they are a place for religious ceremonies, meditation and a last resort when people are faced with trouble in life.

Underlining the importance of religion, in 2012, TFD donated money to temples for restoration purpose to allow temples to co-exist with the Thai society.

- Donating unused items to Wat Suankaew Foundation

TFD donated second-hand and unused items to Wat Suankaew Foundation in 2012 as part of its attempts to reduce, reuse and recycle non-degradable waste in order to help lessen impacts from global warming. The temple which runs the Foundation will handle donated items based on their conditions for maximum benefit of everyone.
