Corporate Social Development in 2009

Thai Factory Development Public Company Limited (TFD) pursued a number of tangible corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities last year. We organized CSR activities on the basis of social benefits, environmental concerns, care and relations development with communities, quality enhancement of children and youth’s wellbeing and compliance with our policy and objective. The goal was to achieve a sustainable co - existence, which we believed was an important fundamental for the Thai society. Last year, we organized the following activities:

Children & Youth Development projects

TFD collaborated with the “Kindness with Smile” Group to donate not only money, teaching materials, food and consumables, sports equipment but also financial support to a luncheon program of two schools supervised by the Border Patrol Police (BPP) in Tak Province; namely, the Ban Samae Yai BPP School in Mae Lamad District and the Ban Kamapado BPP School in Tha Song Yang District. Most students in the schools were of Karen ethnic and had no means to buy school supplies and the likes. The activity therefore helped enhancing quality of their life.

TFD organized a “Sharing Smile by Helping Each Other” activity to the less fortunate women based on a belief that there was still help out there for those in difficult time to overcome their obstacles. The activity called for our staff to donate lingerie, women’s magazines and women’s daily amenities for women prisoners incarcerated in the Central Woman’s Prison at Ladyao who were deprived of opportunities to shop on their own.

TFD in collaboration with English Solutions Co Ltd donated school and sports equipment on the Halloween Day to seven orphanage homes and foundations in Thailand as follows.

  1. Bann Rajavithi Home for Girls
  2. Duangprateep Foundation
  3. Bann Mahamek Home for Boys
  4. HR Development Center
  5. Emergency Shelter Foundation
  6. CCF Foundation
  7. Rural School Assistance Project under the supervision of the American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand.

The activity was created out of our belief that school and sports equipment allowed children to spend time learning and playing and therefore be able to avoid the vices.

Money from the event was spent buying drugs for the children and to support them for their better an d happier co-existence with the rest of the society.

TFD donated money in collaboration with Tambon Tha Sa - an Administration Organization, Chachaengsao Province, and Tha Sa - An Temple to organize a fun - filled event to celebrate the New Year Day. TFD donated money to Phra Thamma Wisutthimongkol (Luangta Mahabua Yanna Sampano) to build a building in the temple’s compound as a meditation center for the interested public, local people and communities.

All CSR activities organized by TFD so far reiterate our attention not only to social activities especially the giving of opportunity to the less privileged children and youth in the provinces so that they grow up with healthy mind and body to be quality matured persons in the future but also community and environmental conservation activities. In 2010, TFD will continue enhancing life quality of children in Bangkok and the provinces through various activities by focusing at their health, ethics and morality and will encourage our staff to take part in nature and environmental conservation.
