Corporate Social Development in 2010
Thai Factory Development Public Company Limited (TFD) and its subsidiaries continued their social activities in 2010 based on an awareness of their responsibility to the society. Details of projects and participation in social activities are as follows.
Youth Development Projects - Donations of learning materials and other necessary items to five schools run by the Border Patrol Police (BPP) in Chiangmai Province TFD has been part of the “Compassion for Our Children’s Smile” Project since 2006. In 2010, together with community learning centers and BPP schools; namely, the Hiang Thai Thamrong School, Ban Na Wang School, Ban Pa Tak School, Ban Huay Ked School and Huay Muang Ngam Community Learning Center, in Mai-Ai District, Chiangmai Province, TFD provided assistance in various shapes and forms ranging from giving scholarships to donating books and teaching materials, repairing teaching media, improving school conditions to be suitable enough for children to study, repairing sports equipment and providing free lunch. |
Beautifying the Sukhothai Historical Park
- Donations to a project to equip Phra Achana Statue and Wat Srichum with proper spotlights at the Sukhothai Historical Park
TFD in collaboration with the Surakiat Sathirathai Foundation donated money to design and build a spotlight system to lighten up both the Phra Achana Statute and Wat Srichum at the Sukhothai Historical Park. The electrical system was built to make a merit to the sacred statue and also to allow the public to pay homage during nighttime safely while enjoying the more than 700-year-old Sukhothai-styled Buddha statue.
- Sponsoring the “Rural Development Volunteering Camp” run by a student club of Faculty of Allied Health Science, Chulalongkorn University TFD financially supported the Student Club of Faculty of Allied Health Science, Chulalongkorn University to organize the “Rural Development Volunteering Camp” at Ban Bangpu School, Samroyyot District, Prachuab Kiri Khan Province. Volunteers worked to improve the school’s dilapidated environment and restored some basic infrastructure so that they could function again. The activity was considered part of a foundation to promote quality education for the new generation of Thais. In addition, a mobile medical service team was dispatched to provide medical advice and other services relating to medical technology, physiotherapy and nutrition to children and nearby residents closed to the Ban Bangpu School. |
TFD hopes that the social activities it pursued in 2010 would benefit the society and other relevant parties as well as improve living conditions of Thai people. With collaboration from executives and staff in the Company, we will continue to pursue our social activities in the future.
